MANILA––GMA Network Inc., in a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) Wednesday, reported that it logged a total of 8,348 television advertising minutes for March 2009 or 16.3 percent higher (1,173 minutes) higher than the figures posted in the same period last year.
The television network, quoting data from AGB Nielsen Company Philippines, said rival ABS-CBN only recorded television advertising minutes of 5,530 minutes this March or 16.6 percent lower compared to the figures logged last year.
AGB Nielsen is the most widely recognized industry supplier of television ratings and other data in the country.
The group began releasing official national urban television audience measures (NUTAM) data in the Philippines in January 2007.
GMA also reported that it continues to dominate competition in television ratings in viewer rich Mega and Metro Manila, North and Central Luzon and Urban Luzon. Philippine News Agency
